RED RIGHT HAND

As part of the Interior Design course, I collaborated with Emīlija Bumbule on a project where we were tasked with selecting a client and developing a bar or restaurant proposal within a limited space.

Red Right Hand is a hidden speakeasy bar envisioned by Thomas Shelby – a fictional character from the British television series Peaky Blinders, known for his role as a cunning and ambitious gangster in post-World War I Birmingham.

Discreetly tucked inside a Renaissance building, the space reflects Tommy’s two sides, he is both a tough planner and refined visionary. Inspired by his industrial roots and strong drive for power, the design fuses 1920s grit with modern restraint – imperfect plastered walls, deep charcoal tones, dark wood, ribbed velvet seating, and soft glows from vintage brass lamps set a moody, seductive tone.

The bar reflects Shelby’s calculated elegance – tailored suits, whiskey rituals, and silence that speaks volumes – through intimate corners, minimalist glass tables, a dark finish bar, and a geometric tile floor anchoring it all.
